Jan. 10 School Reopening

January 2, 2022

Happy New Year McMillan Families,

I hope everyone had a restful break, and enjoyed some quality time with close friends and family.

As most of you already may know, school reopening has been postponed from Jan. 4 to Jan. 10 this year, in order to assess the impact of the omicron virus on our community, and make preparations that will help us slow down the spread of this virus within our school. Our goal is always to ensure that students and staff remain healthy, so that school can continue to operate as close to normal as possible.

To this end, the provincial government has asked us to accommodate only the students of essential health care workers and those students considered vulnerable due to the existence of an IEP to support their learning. If your child falls into one of those two categories and you wish your child to attend school for the remainder of the first week back (W, Th, F), please contact the school throughmcmillan [at] abbyschools.ca (subject: Jan%205%20-%207%20Attendance) ( )mcmillan [at] abbyschools.ca (email), or by leaving a message on our phone (604 859-0126), by Tuesday, Jan. 4.  The staff at McMillan look forward to seeing those students next week.

Below, you can see the letter sent to all Abbotsford School District Families by Superintendent Kevin Godden.

If you have any questions regarding this back to school postponement, do not hesitate to contact me at the school.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Christine Jordan
