Family Literacy Night
Do you wonder how best to support your child's reading level? Is your child struggling to engage in reading? Why on earth do teachers keep doing the same home reading year after year? If these questions interest you, then join us for our first ever McMillan Literacy Evening. Our goal is to help parents of young children, or students who are struggling to read, to better understand the process of learning to read, what we are doing at school, and why reading at home is so critical.
Mrs. Jordan, Mrs. McClelland and District Literacy Helping Teacher Tyra Lasko will work together to share information about Abbotsford School District's Literacy Framework, ways in which the school works to meet students' different learning needs around literacy, and ways in which you can help your child engage and achieve in literacy.
